About this Ohio park near Akron, OH: (https://www.summitmetroparks.org/hampton-hills-metro-park.aspx) "Hampton Hills is one of the larger Metro Parks, encompassing 665 acres. This park is a great example of the topography left behind from the last ice age. The glacially-formed Adam Run Valley was home to several American Indian tribes prior to settlement in the early 1800s. Along the trails, oak, elm, sycamore and black walnut trees provide habitat for a variety of birds and other wildlife. "

I am drawn not only to the beauty within a scene, but am careful to include beckoning elements of light/shadow, repetition and depth. Scenes chosen revolve around a dance of light/shadow and its own sense of invitation to explore; pathways are common to include for this reason. Quiet, hidden, reflective/introspective....lush; these are things I look for. I am polarized by scenes that make me forget my troubles and I feel "enveloped", even if just for a moment.
